Dr. William “Will” Wulfeck is a lecturer in the studio music and jazz program at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, where he teaches jazz theory, aural skills, and jazz performance. He also leads a jazz sextet, and can be seen performing as a freelance trombonist throughout South Florida.

Dr. Wulfeck earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Trombone Performance from the Frost School of Music in 2018. He received a Master of Fine Arts in Jazz Trombone from CalArts, and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from California State University, Northridge.

Miami musical highlights include a successful three years membership with the Frost Concert Jazz Band and Henry Mancini Orchestra, and a composition premiere with Michael Tilson Thomas and the New World Symphony. Will is also credited on a Grammy-nominated album by jazz trumpeter John Daversa, and two recital sets of new, original compositions for jazz sextet.

Before moving to Miami, Dr. Wulfeck spent eight years studying, teaching, and performing as a freelance trombonist in Los Angeles.
