Adrienne Williams

Violin & Viola Teaching Artist

Dr. Adrienne Williams, violinist and violist, is a native of Orem, Utah. Adrienne holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. There, she served as teaching assistant to Charles Castleman, and also studied with Jodi Levitz. Previously, Adrienne earned a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music and Bachelor of Music from Brigham Young University School of Music.

Adrienne is passionate about teaching and has served as violin faculty at the Lutheran Summer Music Festival and Academy for six years, and was most recently invited as guest faculty at the BYU Young Musician’s Summerfest. She also remains devoted to building and sustaining music programs in public school systems, where she devoted many years to teaching and assisting at various orchestra programs in at-risk public schools across Utah Valley. She has also been a featured guest-artist and lecturer in numerous educational outreach programs, including a collaboration with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Rochester, and previously the Rosemary Beach Foundation in Florida.

Adrienne also enjoys a versatile career as a chamber musician, orchestral player, recording artist, and teacher. Praised by the South Florida Classical Review for “sweetness of tone” and “astute musicality,” Adrienne is currently a member of the Palm Beach Symphony and Florida Grand Opera, where she often serves as assistant principal violist. Since 2017 she has played with the Utah Symphony, and she also has frequently served as concertmaster of Memphis Sinfonietta and the Frost Symphony orchestra. As a soloist, Adrienne has performed with the Utah Valley Symphony, Oquirrh Mountain Symphony, and BYU Symphony orchestras.

In addition, Adrienne is a member of Trio Osceola. A Miami-based, award-winning piano trio. In 2023, Trio Osceola performed at the 50^th annual Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, where they received the Horszowski award for highest-ranking piano trio. Trio Osceola has since performed throughout Florida and across the US, most recently appearing at the Harvard Chamber Music Festival.

Adrienne’s teachers include Mikhail Kopelman, Monte Belknap, Alex Woods, and Barbara Williams. She has received additional studies from the Brentano Quartet, Ying Quartet, Vienna Piano Trio, Rachel Barton Pine, David Kim, David Coucheron, William Preucil, and Patty Kopec, among others.

In her free time, Adrienne can be found cycling, bird-watching, and napping. Though, usually not simultaneously.
