Josias Perez

Piano Teaching Artist

Josias Perez is a pianist and audio engineer originally from Los Angeles, California. He began studying piano at the age of 7.

Josias currently attends the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. There, he continues to develop his piano skills and musicianship, while he also pursues his studies in music engineering.

Throughout his musical development, Josias has participated in a wide range of ensembles. These included wind ensemble, symphonic orchestra, marching band, and contemporary bands. These experiences have allowed Josias to explore a variety of musical styles, while developing his skills as both a pianist and ensemble musician.

Outside of his studies, Josias enjoys playing and creating music, working with artists and musicians, and exploring different styles and approaches to music. He has gained experience in both live sound and recording. These allow him to work alongside musicians in a variety of performance and production settings. His experience as both a musician and as an audio engineer has given him a well-rounded understanding of music, from both creative and technical perspectives.

Josias’ passion for music extends into education, where he enjoys sharing his musical knowledge and experience. He believes that learning an instrument is an opportunity to develop not only musical ability, but also creativity, confidence, and discipline.
