Nicolle Garcia

Voice, Piano, & Songwriting Teaching Artist

Nicolle Garcia, a Nicaraguan-American artist, graduated in 2021 with a B.A. in Jazz Vocal Performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. There, she studied jazz composition, improvisation, rhythm synchronicity, and vocal pedagogy.

Nicolle explores her heritage, experiences, and passion for creation and self-expression through the practice of various art forms. These include singing, composing, writing, photography, and theater. She performs original music, heartfelt boleros, and reverent folk. Her latest solo project is a soon-to-be-released single titled In the Quiet; it features six-string and eight-string nylon guitars and percussion.

Jazz is at the core of Nicolle’s fundamental roots, and continues to inform Nicolle’s approach to all music. This encompasses Latin-American folk from Central and South America and Afro-Cuban jazz. Her extensive musical knowledge offers listeners a unique perspective on The Latin Jazz Quarter, a radio show she hosts and curates through Miami’s community radio station, WDNA 88.9 FM.

Nicolle’s bright spirit and unconventional teaching style prompt her students to find their artistic voice and confidence, through every lesson.
