Piano Teaching Artist
Sydney Miyao is a passionate keyboardist, vocalist, songwriter and producer. She is from Honolulu, Hawai‘i.
Sydney is especially interested in writing musical theatre. In 2019, she produced her first full-length production, Petrichor, which hailed a successful premiere and an encore run.
Sydney is also dedicated to education. In 2020, she joined the staff of the non-profit organization, Hawai‘i Chamber Music Festival, where she now serves as Secretary. In addition, she helps to manage the Young Artist Program, which offers full scholarships to talented classical musicians across O‘ahu. Last summer, Sydney assisted in the production of five concerts in the span of two weeks. She also managed the Young Artists Program. This included providing local clinicians to coach chamber groups in preparation for concerts, string orchestra concert performances, and coachings by the festival’s guest artists.
Sydney currently attends the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. There, she pursues her degree in Media Scoring and Production. She also looks forward to another year as a CAP Piano Teaching Artist, with meaningful, educational, and fun experience for her students!
