Rachel Ohnsman
Piano and Voice Instructor
Rachel Ohnsman, a graduate of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, began her music career as a high school student, leading choir rehearsals for several months while the chair of the department was on medical leave. She was also the director of the select a cappella ensemble for two years. Since then, Rachel has taught classes in musical theatre, vocal jazz, music theory, contemporary voice, songwriting, and piano. She has music directed twelve theatre productions with casts ranging from kindergarten to college students, including 13 the Musical, Cats, and Aida.
Rachel has toured throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. She has performed in 23 theatre productions, with several professional ensembles, and as a solo act. Additionally, she has presented a TEDx talk, released an album of original music, written several commissioned arrangements and compositions and is now co-writing a full-length musical.
Rachel is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Film Scoring and Music Production at the University of Miami Frost School of Music. Concurrently, she teaches private voice and piano lessons with the Community Arts Program (CAP) and Frost Preparatory Program.
