Jessica Hawthorne

Trombone Instructor

Jessica Hawthorne is a versatile musician performing classical, jazz, and chamber music on tenor and alto trombone. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music, she completed a master’s degree at University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, where she is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Instrumental Performance.  At the UM Frost School of Music, she is a Fellow and Assistant Coordinator for the Henry Mancini Institute, as well as a Teaching Assistant for the trombone studio.

Recently, she has performed with Orquesta America, Boca Raton Symphonia, Ohio Light Opera, and the New World Symphony.  Jessica has also had the pleasure of performing with Terence Blanchard, Ben Folds, Barry Manilow, and Joseph Alessi.

Passionate about education, Jessica is an active teacher in South Florida. She is eager to work with the talented students of the Community Arts Program!
