David Mason

Saxophone and Flute Teaching Artist

David Mason is a saxophonist and flutist currently pursuing his Master of Music within the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.

David has worked at featured concerts, festivals, and engagements around the country with such Grammy award-winning artists as Gloria Estefan, Maria Schneider, Dave Liebman, John Daversa, Brian Lynch, and Dafnis Prieto. These have included appearances at the Ground-Up Music Festival and the Jazz Education Network (JEN) Conference. David was also a featured performer at the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Festival and Suncoast Jazz Festival. He plays regularly with Landau Eugene Murphy – the 2011 winner of America’s Got Talent.

David has also worked in various settings with such renowned composers as Miho Hazama. He has Downbeat awards as well as recognition from programs like YoungArts and JEN. Education outreach has been a constant in David’s career, with clinics for local arts programs, high schools, and within a teaching studio that consists of students from across the United States.
