Rob Saunders

Robert Saunders began his teaching career after completing a Bachelor of Science degree Music Education at Duquesne University. While in Pittsburgh, Pa, Rob was the cellist of the Steele City Quartet, member of the Butler County Orchestra, and collaborative artist on various projects with members of Point Park University’s dance program, Duquesne University Spotlight Theater productions, and others.
After earning a Master’s degree at the Eastman School of Music and teaching in Broward County, FL, Rob is currently a doctoral student in the music education program at University of Miami Frost School of Music and the Music Programs Manager at Miami Lighthouse for the
Blind and Visually Impaired. Having experience teaching at all levels of strings instrumental instruction, Rob brings fresh perspectives to classroom and private lesson pedagogy.
Rob is an accomplished cello, mandolin, and fiddle player and currently performs with several groups covering a wide variety of music genres including bluegrass, old-timey, and modern country music. Social music making and preservation of past traditions are hallmarks of Rob’s approach to music teaching.
