Kyle Skarshaug

Percussion/Drums Teaching Artist

Kyle Skarshaug is a gifted multi-instrumentalist and composer specializing in drums, vocals, and guitar. Hailing from Northern Michigan, Kyle began playing drums at the age of five, guitar at the age of eight, and was singing by age 12.

After a youth spent in obsession with the rock music of the Foo Fighters or Rush and the songwriting prowess of Elvis Costello or Sting, Kyle decided to study jazz drums within the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. There, he was a member of multiple award-winning ensembles, in addition to founding and playing with a number of bands that performed throughout South Florida.

To date, Kyle has shared the stage with iconic musicians Christian McBride, Sean Jones, Bob James, and The Accidentals, among others.
