Andrew Hamilton

Piano and Trombone Instructor

Instructor3Trombonist, pianist, composer, and educator Andrew Hamilton has been writing and playing music for almost 20 years. After receiving his Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Florida, he moved to Chicago where he earned a Master of Music from DePaul University. After playing and teaching professionally in Chicago for five years, he most recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts in Studio Music and Jazz from the University of Miami. Dr. Hamilton has been performing and teaching in the Greater Miami Area for the last three years.

Andrew leads a band in Miami that performs his original music. He has also had works performed by the Frost Concert Jazz Band and the Frost Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his own private studio, Dr. Hamilton gives clinics and masterclasses at many surrounding schools.

Dr. Hamilton is thrilled to be teaching within the Community Arts Program (CAP), and to be working with such talented faculty and students.
