The CGCC Community Arts Program Conservatory for the Arts Young Musicians’ JUNIOR & INTERMEDIATE Orchestras are after-school ensembles for beginning to intermediate string players who will benefit from engaging in weekly highly-structured learning/rehearsal sessions and a minimum of four performances. These Orchestras also serve as a primer for the CGCCCommunity Arts Program Young Musicians’ Advanced String Orchestra.

JUNIOR Orchestra and INTERMEDIATE Orchestra participants learn the mechanics of and the techniques for preparing a broad spectrum of repertoire (classical, jazz and contemporary, including commissioned works). Rehearsals engage participants in developing the best music-making decisions within the broad spectrum of repertoire presented. This approach fosters solid technique, confidence, a feel for various music styles, and the importance of team work for exceptional ensemble and individual growth.
