Jordan Christianson, Piano Instructor

Jordan Christianson–pianist, composer, and arranger–was born and raised in Fargo, ND. He began studying piano at age 8 and started to seriously pursue jazz while attending Fargo South High School. During his time there, he performed in several school ensembles and led a quartet that gigged regularly. After graduating in 2007 he performed with the Fargo South Jazz Ensemble I at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland. The following fall, Jordan attended Concordia College as a piano performance major. After two years, he transferred to Minnesota State University Moorhead in order to devote himself more fully to jazz. While there, Jordan had many performance opportunities. These culminated in first-place finishes in the small group and big band divisions at the 2011 Eau Claire Jazz Festival, in addition to an outstanding performance award. Jordan graduated in May of 2011 with his Bachelor of Music in Studio and Jazz Music. Currently, he is a first-year Master’s student at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. Jordan also maintains an active schedule of teaching and performing and has appeared with jazz greats Peter Erskine, Marvin Stamm, Ben Allison, Allen Vizzutti, and others.
