Dan Susnjar – Percussion Instructor

Dan Susnjar–Australian drummer, percussionist, composer, and educator–has performed and recorded with a host of world-class musicians including Chris Potter, Victor Wooten, Joshua Redman, Arturo Sandoval and Gary Burton. In addition, Daniel has performed with the Miami Symphony Orchestra, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Frost Symphony Orchestra, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the Western Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra Composer’s Ensemble, which performed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics Arts Festival.  Daniel relocated to the USA in August 2008 to undertake his Master of Music degree in Studio Music and Jazz (drum set performance) at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.  A Henry Mancini Institute fellow, he is also a Teaching Assistant and member of the Frost School of Music Concert Jazz Band (winner of the 2010 Downbeat Award for Best Graduate Level Large Ensemble).  Daniel recently completed his Master’s and has returned to the University of Miami to begin his Doctor of Musical Arts studies.  Since late 2010, Daniel has been performing in New York City and Peru with the Gabriel Alegria Afro-Peruvian Sextet.  In January 2011, Daniel travelled to Peru to undertake intensive study into Afro-Peruvian drumming as part of his Doctoral thesis.
