

Ashley Liberty, Young Musicians’ Advanced Orchestra Conductor

Ashley Liberty earned her B.A. in Musicology at Barnard College of Columbia University in NYC while studying violin at the Manhattan School of Music (MSM). She began her graduate studies at MSM and completed her Master’s in Music performance as the violin teaching assistant at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. Since then, Ashley has played with the Naples Philharmonic, the Miami City Ballet Orchestra, the Miami Bach Society, and the Florida Grand Opera. She has performed as Concertmaster of the Mancini Institute Orchestra in their concerts with Cuban band ‘Tiempo Libre,’ on the HBO special featuring comedian Robert Klein, and for the world premiere of the musical Lanza. Ashley frequently performs with her husband, pianist Daniel Strange. Ashley and Daniel recently completed their first album, Snapshot, which features a wide range of styles. Ashley is a certified O’Connor Violin Method teacher and she taught the method at the Berklee School of Music in Boston for the Mark O’Connor String Camp, and also at the inaugural O’Connor Method Camp in Charleston, South Carolina. Ashley is also the violin instructor for 250 students at the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Miami, Florida.
